What is the difference between CND Shellac and other gel polishes?

There is one big difference: Shellac is not a gel and the others are. Shellac is a hybrid, which allows your natural nail to ‘breath’.
Shellac is easier and quicker to apply. Just Like polish, easier to remove. Which means no filing! Shellac is hypoallergenic and 3 free too, no gel can claim this.
Lasting ability (2-3 weeks) is the same with both.

Do I need a patch test for eyelash and eyebrow tinting?

Yes, we will require you to perform a patch test usually 24-48 hours before the treatment to ensure that there are no adverse reactions to any of the ingredients used.

Do I need to do anything before a spray tan and do you have different shades?

We’d recommend that you exfoliate and wax or shave the day before. You can wear your own underwear or bikini but we advise no white lace, we would recommend you bring loose dark clothing to go home in. The tan will last for about 5-7 days if looked after correctly (ie moisturise, pat skin dry after bath/shower etc) We would also advise to have the tan 1-2 days before that special occasion. We can tailor each spray tan to your specific needs. If you require a very natural tan we can achieve this quite easily. Please mention when booking the appointment and your therapist will accommodate accordingly.

Does waxing hurt?

It doesn’t tickle, but it’s very quick. Redness or a slight rash is typical, especially if it’s your first time. The more often you wax, the more your skin and hair becomes used to it – and the less it hurts.

I’m pregnant, what treatments can I have?

Up to 12 weeks we recommend you only have manicures and pedicures. After 12 weeks we recommend a range of treatments – just ask. This is up to the therapist who is treating you.

What if i'm late?

This limits your treatment time. If you have not already completed a consultation we will ask you to do this beforehand, so please allow at least 15 minutes before your treatment time.

What if I have a medical condition?

If you’re pregnant, make sure that you let the therapist know, as this can affect the treatments and products that they use on you. You also need to advise someone if you suffer from a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or joint conditions such as arthritis, plus any skin complaints or recent viruses. Remember to mention any allergies – a nut allergy for example could affect the oil a therapist uses in a massage, and the products that can be used on you.

These are just some of the most commonly asked questions, however if you do have any other questions or concerns with anything before visiting the salon then please feel free to speak to us directly in person or by calling us on 01522 530 600
